Where art and fine dining combine
We love Palma de Mallorca for all the great fine dining restaurants and we especially love it when we discover a "Sapphire" in the rough. Fera Restaurant and Bar is exactly this, with its contemporary fusion of exquisite cuisine and eclectic modern art you are sure to be enchanted from start to finish. Just a minute walk off Palma's main shopping street Jaime III and up a cobbled side street, you'll find Fera perfectly situated on the ground floor of the Circulo Mallorquin, one of the Island's longest established social club.
As you walk into the pristine courtyard, you can be forgiven for thinking this was a boutique hotel, with the grande foyer and the incredible art pieces and decor especially curated by Aba Art Lab. For private events or large groups there is a library room right next to the open plan kitchen and for the cocktail lovers, the bar area offers some of the most unique cocktails & liqueurs you'll find anywhere in Palma and in the summer months the garden area is a truly hidden gem of tranquillity.
The cuisine is a fusion of Mediterranean and Asian which Chef Simon Petutschning likes to call it "MediterrAsian".
The signature of Fera is their tasting menu, which they offer a 3 course Lunch menu and a 5 or 6 course dinner menu and we urge you to indulge while you are here because this experience is not one to be missed.
The lunch menu changes bi-weekly and includes some of the house favourites and Chef's recommendations.
When we went we had the Fera Art Menu, an incredible 6 course menu with an evolution of flavours, textures and sensory elevating experiences. Words fail to give justice to our enjoyment but luckily for us we were dining with one of Mallorca's great photographers Emma Fenton who took pictures.
Son Mayol Angus Steak Tartar
The delights of the Mediterranean sea in a oyster shell with Asian touches
Egg with black truffle, Arturo Sánchez bellota ham and potato chips
Black cuttlefish-ink rice with grilled octopus and plankton alioli
Five-spiced magret of duck with apple purée, miso aubergine and pear chutney
Textures of chocolate with kumquat marmalade, orange and yuzu sorbet
The staff were friendly, attentive and extremely helpful. Be sure to ask the sommelier for recommendations, we were pleasantly surprised to see the extensive range of local Mallorquin and international wines. Once we explained our personal preference for a medium bodied fruity red, we couldn't get enough of the local Mallorquin Fangar Elements Negre and are sure to visit their vineyards here on the island.
